Result: In rear - not fluent 2nd - weakened before 3 out (inquiry held into running and riding of gelding - who was held up in rear - throughout and never appeared to become competitive - to finish 11th of 12 finishers by a distance of 61 3/4l; vet examined gelding post-race during routine testing and had nothing to report; jockey stated that his instructions were to line up half way - to give himself a bit of room as this was gelding's first run over hurdles and to do his best; he explained that he had become further back than he had hoped due to gelding jumping novicey and gelding was never travelling comfortably throughout race - a fact in which he had reported at scales; he further added that although gelding had previously won a bumper on 9/11/24 at Kelso - he felt that gelding would benefit from stepping up in trip and being ridden more prominently)(op 13/2)
